We are close to closing out the year, and can’t think too much into the future without saying a big thank you to you and all.
What a great summer. What an amazing autumn too. We reach out to you to update you on the many projects we’ve gotten ourselves into. Above is a photograph of Molly and I going on our last sail. A woman with a camera, Karen Long, happened to be at Memorial Wharf and snapped the picture. Through the help of modern day, texting and phones, she sent us the picture. Thank you Karen.
Christmas at Sea

By Molly Conole
We are so excited to be invited back to the lovely Federated Church in Edgartown for our second annual "Christmas at Sea" performance, Monday, December 16 at 4 p.m.. We had such a fun time last year, so we all decided to do it again!
This year's show will feature some Mark & Molly Christmas song magic as well as performances by the wonderful Federated Church Choir, led by Peter Boak, and lovely instrumental spotlights including Brian Weiland and Jan Hyer. We are also excited to welcome two island treasured storytellers to join us - Steve Ewing, who is sure to bring an original poem, and Matthew Stackpole, always with a salty tale to tell.
The show is an exciting work in progress, and we are all so thrilled about how it is coming together.
If you're on-island, please do come join us at the pre-dinner hour of 4:30pm for an hour-ish long show. The wonderful cooks at Federated Church will be organizing a reception afterward, and Molly has promised to augment their offerings with some of Mrs. Alice Tilton's chocolate caramels, honoring her tradition.
The show will be book-ended by a lovely Christmas welcome and blessing by Rev. Mark Winters. We will also record the show so we can share it soon afterward online and with our MVTV viewers.
Frank Lovewell, Mark's talented brother, is also working on a new poster design for us - we can't wait to see what he comes up with, but we know it will be wonderful. Stay tuned!
Wishing you all Christmas Cheer to Come!
A Time to Create
Summer is terrific for great weather, sunshine and the camaraderie of friends on the water and on the shore, but don’t discount the power of autumn.
We are most creative in this season. I believe it. Walks along the beach, visits with friends in a warm cozy living room, you can’t beat it. Then finish the day with a loose-leaf notebook and a favorite pen.
We went into the Parr Audio recording studio with our dear host and friend Jim Parr. This gave us a chance to dive in and get some more songs recorded for our future CD, a collection of original and traditional songs and stories.
Nye Museum
Molly and I performed Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2024, at the Nye Museum in East Sandwich. The museum is a super place, bringing the stories of Cape Cod and the maritime surrounding waters into one place. There is a beautiful marshland and babbling brook nearby. What a wonderful place for sharing tales and fellowship. We sang our songs, told stories, and just had a wonderful time. The audience was alive with enthusiasm.
Amy Johnson, the executive director, has already asked us to return again in 2025.
